Burger Kings

17th November 2012

I’ve spent a fair majority of my adult life searching for the best burger in the whole wide world. I thought I found it when Sam and I ventured into Corner Bistro in New York, after hearing it weaved into an episode of How I Met Your Mother. That was true until Alex took me on a date one night and I discovered Flora burger in Oakland, CA. Most possibly the best burger I’ve ever had. They season it with salt and pepper and minced parsley and top it with an aged cheese and serve it perfectly rare, every time. Alex and I must have talked up this burger pretty highly, because when we were hanging out at the Zerofriends shop, planning on stopping by Flora, a group of our friends we were with agreed to join us!

We all sat down and I remembered that the tables at Flora, were lined with long sheets of paper. I distributed pens around and we all started drawing our own versions of a hamburger, while we waited for our real burgers to be served. It was funny to see what everyone thought up and put down with a couple of crappy ball point pens, uneven paper, and 5 minutes before the food showed up. No one just drew a burger. They drew rock star burgers beyond a sea of hot dogs, overpriced burgers, and story burgs boards!

I drew the ice-burger that really sunk the Titanic

and caught Dave and Marissa perving out over my nudie pen.

The food eventually came, and like every time I get something warm to eat, I devoured my burger before I could get a chance to take a picture of it and post it on the internet to show off my gluttony. Its probably for the best…

Heres a Brick Down Of A Fun Day

11th October 2012

While I was up in California, I tagged along on a trip to the little town of Sebastopol to watch some dudes armed with cans that spit color, turn a brick wall into a far more interesting brick wall!

By some dudes, I mean Wayshak, Ricky Watts, Dave Correia, Alex Pardee, and Quake and by brick wall I probably mean something far more artsy and “blank canvas” or “a visual form of identity” or “the next best thing to a fresh slice of pizza”

Whatever it was, I liked distracting myself by playing peak a boo with the shade, seeing how many cat heads I could draw on a page, and other mundane activities only to look up and see that everyone was always at diffrent stages of painting.

Heres some photos from the day:

My San Diego Comic Conclusion

24th July 2012

iPhone home photo by Alex

I got to spend some time down at San Diego Comic Con, this year and had the best time people watching, visiting my friends from far away lands in their booths, doodling in corners, and collecting toys, flyers, and candy in my purse.

Comic Converse!

I’ve been to several comic conventions, but this was only my second one to the San Diego. The last time I went equipped with a borrowed Canon 7D and used it to make this fun little video.

SDCC is nuts. There’s people lined up outside of convention halls for days to get a glimpse of the cast of the Big Bang Theory. People camp out for hours before the show opens, in hopes of getting a ticket, to be able to stand in line, for a toy that they will only make 100 of. There was even a Comic Con casualty outside the center, and almost one at the Zerofriends booth.

As much as I appreciated all the chaos, I mainly enjoyed getting to walk around and do some people watching, and grabbing lunch with my fellow photo taking friends. Heres some shots from my trip!

Alex and I discovered the best way to eat the worst foods is by masking them with nacho cheese. It was regretful yet delicious.Sash got to meet up with Audrey Kawasaki and talk about tattoos.I got to meet up with Jim and talk about our splintered phones.

I gave out poem treats to those who had been walking the floor until their feet were about to bleed, like me. Sam and I got to pet the cutest pups when we all showed up too early to a party, where this meal happened!

Yes. I ate the most incredible 6 course meal prepared by the amazing chef Wolvesmouth. I now have dreams that involve cheese fritters all the time, and I wake up drooling far more that ever.

the convention center was swarming with these adorable fluffy llamas. I have no idea why, but it made the entire trip just a little bit cuter.

Zoetica has a glowing unique style, that I made sure that her camera did too, by turning it into a face!

The convention center was typically full of very small people, and not so typically stocked with one abnormally large little person.

I got to see Dethklok play before their tour beings, on a battle ship, during a brilliantly planned party thrown by Adult Swim.

there were a ton of different forms of documenting Comic Con, and I’ve loved seeing everyone elses photos popping up online.
